Promotion refers to the use of communication with the twin objective of informing potential customers about a product and persuading them to buy it.Having an effective promotional strategy is a crucial element for companies.promotion strategy for cakes and desserts are -

Advertsing through Use of Social media- Use social media like facebook etc and make pages with the name of company and actively promoting cakes and desserts by taking good photograps of them and posting them on social media. People are greatly influenced by beautiful photographs and active participation in social media. Also developing a website or a page on internet gives greater exposure to people in the local area looking for the product we are offering. It also allows to easily promote special sales and discounts online. It enables customers to place orders easily. Also we can promote quality of the cakes and desserts being made in our business. I can promote on social media that we , for desserts, concentrate on serving desserts only made from products that are grown right on the land or available in the local season, not always as it would reduce variety but for some because customers would fresh desserts to be served. For cakes, we will do the same practice. I will also promote my cakes and desserts on social media by posting that we offer a 24/7 delivery service for our customers so that they can place orders for midnight surprise for their loved ones's birthdays.

The promotional strategy that I would not use -

Doing random promotional campaign or giveaways of product-(personal selling) - I would avoid using personal selling as it is impossible for a bakery business as cakes and desserts need to be in a proper temperature inside machines, so personal selling cannot be used. Also advertising through campaigns or small events as they would increase my budget and might result in increased costs than profit. There is a hige risk involved in this strategy, so I would not use this. Also giving away products and offering high discounts is also a strategy of promotion that I would not use as all these would result in considerable increased costs.
