The identification of new drug or chemical requires a lit of synthesis, time and money. So, out of billion chemicals synthesized, only one or two reaches clinical trials. This will definitely produce hurdle in the discovery of new chemicals for treatment of various disease.Here Quantitative structure-activity relationship approach has proved very useful in solving this problem.
QSAR approach attempts to identify and quantify the physicochemical properties of a drug and to see whether it's property has any effect on drug's biological activity.
Quantifying the relationship between structure and activity provide an understanding of the effect of the structure of structure in activity.The result coming from analysis can be used to study the functional group in the molecule of greatest activity.
Now come to what is green chemistry?
Green Chemistry is the utilization of a set of principles that reduces or eliminates the use or generation of hazardous substances in the design, manufacture and application of chemical products.
For performing the process, There is a need to provide a reasonable estimate for toxicity values for a wide range of toxicological endpoints used for management tools. It problem can be solved by using QSAR technique as given below;-
