W.I.S.E. Approach stands for "Wonder, Investigate, Speculate and Evaluate. The main advantage of W.I.S.E. Approach is that it is simple and easy to remember. It can be used for challenges in every field of study. It is used differently for problems than for issues.

Step 1:

Wonder: The researcher has to know the principles, habits and skills of Critical Thinking, by learning from past experinces and analysing the present experience. He has to plan for possible future problems and challenges. The things that lead to wondering are: The desire to improve things, Failure, Frustration, Embarrassment and Controversy.

Step 2:

Investigate: Understand the sources of problems and ways of eliminating them with minimum effort and resourceswithin a limited time completely so that the same do not recur again. Reason to investigate a problem is to determine for people;s dissatisfaction.

Step 3: Speculate: Analyse the problems on hand in order to acquire possible solutions pros and cons of actions and turn conflicting assertions and conclusions into questions for possible answers.

Step 4: Evaluate: Review possible solutions to questions raised and identify the optimum solution sibject to available constraints of man power, finance, time etc.
