What is it that keeps you personally from engaging in criminal behavior?

Example: I would absolutely hate to go to jail, I do not like being told what to do or being confined into small spaces. The idea of being in a jail cell scares me and I would not have to be told when I could or could not take a shower. (Do not copy my response really put some thought into it )

I do not want to cause harm to people. By engaging in criminal behaviour I will be causing some kind of harm to an individual. Moreover, I am a conformist who abides by the law of the land and engaging in some form of criminal activity is a direct violation. I as a person just can't hold the thought of hurting someone by theft, murder, robbery, kidnap etc. The existing literature on criminology demonstrates that the effects of a criminal act can be observed not just on the victim but also affects his or her family, friends, and community. I take no thrill of being a criminal and also do not agree to the point that some people become offenders as a result of their circumstances such as poverty, alcohol and drug abuse. It is just not something that is aligned with the goals I cherish to achieve. I believe that with hard work and channeling your energy in the right direction, one can achieve higher grounds in life. Instead as a citizen, one should help to control crime in a society.
