Critical Incident Techniques(CIT) gives 5 major steps -

Determining the activity’s aim; setting plans, specifications, and criteria for the information to be obtained; collecting data; analyzing the data; and reporting the findings.

As per me, the most important and critical dtep involved in the process is - Analysis and Reporting on the findings. This is the last step involved in a CIT. The aim of conducting any research is to derive valuable results out of it. The efficiency of any research is determined by the impact of its output. This can be done effectively by audiotaping or videotaping the the results of the research. In this step, the effectiveness of the various methodologies that were used, can be reviewed. Participation rate is an important indicator that can be identified at this stage.

A proper analysis and reporting can guarantee the success of any research, that is done. Thus, this is the last step involved in CIT.
