Ethical Listening ( answers does not need to be too long)
If you felt that a classmate’s speech was boring, do you have an ethical obligation to lat this classmate know that the speech was boring? Why or why not? If yes, what ethical standards might apply when telling this person about your unfavorable impression of the speech?
If you knew that a student in this class “borrowed” a speech from another student, do you have an ethical obligation to let the student know that what or she has done is unethical? Do you have an ethical obligation to let your instructor know? Why or why not?
If a speaker in this class used information from a biased source, would you have an ethical obligation to criticize the speaker for using information from that source? Why or why not?
If you feel strongly that a speaker did an outstanding job of presenting a speech in this class, do you have an ethical obligation to share your opinion after the speech is over? Why or why not?
Hello!
*I Do not think I would tell my classmate that his speech was boring instead I would definitely pick out pints from it and appreciate him for it , according to me telling him his speech was boring can break his self esteem he might feel bad thinking of how he delivered a speech in front of so many only to feel bad hence I wouldn't tell my classmate this .
*If I knew a student has borrowed a speech from someone else this I would definitely oppose this because it is not fair to borrow somebody's work and then take all the credit because that person would have put so much effort to create the speech and it is so sad that sometimes takes it away. I do not know if I would tell this to my instructor because that completely depends on the situation.
* yes i would criticize that person for using information from a biased source because as I said it is not fair for someone to do that then anyone in the class could have done that it is like disrespecting others genuine efforts.
*yes I would share my opinion if fact I would applaud and appreciate this person for their outstanding speech because a successful speech involves various factors and I'm sure that this person chose to be true and be focused and the good is the outcome of the same hence I will share a positive feedback.
Thankyou, hope this helped!
