Trace the development of land grants by the federal government.
The concept of land grants started when Morrill submitted a bill and President Abraham Lincoln signed the Morrill Act into law in 1862. The law gave right to every US state to establish land grants for every 30000 acres of land per member of Congress and use it for establishment of colleges and universities and also for agricultural use.
Land grants were established and the concept was developed to assist the working class such as noble professions like doctors, engineers, farmers etc by establishment of schools, colleges, universities, agricultural farms etc in order to help these working class people acquire skill sets and also help them economically as well. This was done in order to educate farmers and assist them for success and growth of agriculture and also to help future engineers, doctors etc to acquire skillsets in order to encourage and motivate them for economic development and scietific research.
