1a. Discuss how you will resolve the following scenario with the current employees at hand and what sort of consequences there are if the behavior continues.
Scenario 1: You have a huge problem at work. One of your coworkers is horribly allergic to peanuts and peanut oil. Your other coworker has horrible food allergies and only can eat special bars with peanut oil them. You don’t know how to handle both very legitimate and realistic concerns.
1b. Write a one-page policy memo for how to resolve this in the future or to prevent occurrences in the future
1.a. This scenario is grave and serious as a result of both the co-workers being severely allergic. While, one is severely allergic to peanuts and peanut oil, the other co-worker has severe food allergies such that he can consume only special bars which have peanut oil. The two suffer from allergies which contradict each other's allergies. There would arise a problem for providing foods and snacks to them at the work place. I would resolve their issues by requesting them to detail the allergic problems and highlight the foods they individually can consume. Then, I can request the cafeteria to arrange the stock for the essential items as per their health requirements as well as the budget of the company.
1. b. I would request all employees to provide details about any allergic such as food or dust or any severe allergies they may have at the time of joining the firm. This must be supported by a doctor's prescription which details the allergy, it's medicine and the severity seen in the candidate. Also, the employee must ensure he/she proactively ensures good health and does not consume foods that may be allergic to him/her. The employee, in case of severe food allergy, may carry his/her own food and inform the office authority The office authority person is HR manager ____, who would then regularize and inform the same to the cafeteria personnel.
