Why are educational programs that outline the risks associated with STDs not completely effective? What might be done to enhance their effectiveness among an adolescent population? Please be specific in your reasons and your suggestions. Include information from research.
It is right fact that educational programs that outline the risks associated with STDs not completely effective due to unawareness in people, lack of implementation of programs, old methods of working.
Hence, in order to aware the adolescents about STDs and other issues, Adolescents should receive sex education because it is very necessary for them to know about sexual health and what is right and wrong for them. It will help in order to reduce sexually transmitted disease and teen pregnancy.
There are three types of programs available in the U.S for sex education and birth control:
• Abstinence-only
• abstinence plus
• comprehensive sex education.
These programs are highly beneficial for students and helped in order to reduce early pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.
In U.S sexual education is given to the adolescents from 6 to 12 grades. The main purpose of these educational programmes is to make the students more aware of sexual health and sexual orientations
It is very important that students should aware about sexual health and various types of birth control.
