yes i agree with the statement because People are always taught by their parents and relatives to be good person. for example- I always been taught that i should tell truth, respect others, be honest, take decisions which does not harm others.
When people work in organization then these good things started to become bad or negative because the environment, circumstances, events and other people start to put impact on behavior, actions and values of people.There are factors like pressure, authority, compensation, social status, power plays important role to lead people in behaving in negative ways.
"It's quite difficult for most people to ignore the wishes of those in authority positions. People also feel like they're less responsible for wrongdoings if they act under the direction of someone else."( Travis Bradberry ,2017).
For example- I work in an accounting department as junior accounting executive and my accounting manager said that i need to manipulate some accounting data so that he can increase business value for investors and get some money for him. He tells me that if i do not do this then i could lose my job so what would i do. I act in uder authority pressure and manipulate the data even though it is wrong.
Yes, i have experienced conflict in the workplace. Conflict is clash of interest or situations where two persons do not agree. The conflict was related to power and position where My co worker tells me that i can not rank up my position and gain promotion in the company. I disagree on that so i started to show hard work and fill up for the promotion position. Company has policy to provide promotion first written exam and second performance standards in the past. i started to performance above set standards and consult and take supervison from my supervisors. after my hard work and high performance i get promotion.
It was constructive because if i have not been challenged and conflict with co worker then i would not attempt this. "Managers have a special role in working with constructive conflict: employee reviews. These are often stressful for everyone. When approached as a means to help employees become better in every way, the conflict of the situation changes from negative criticism to constructive development."( Kimberlee Leonard,2019).We deal with conflicts by taking it as challenge. Priortize points on agreement and disagreements we must develope a plan to solve conflict .
