You and two other coworkers work in the design department for Fun Inc, a company that produces high quality toys for kids. During the process of finalizing the design for a new toy, the other two coworkers begin having negative conflict as they try to finalize the design of the new toy before an imminent deadline. One team member insists on making the toy with maximum quality and the other is focused on making the toy at the lowest cost. One of the team members is getting frustrated and feels that the team should be making better progress. The team member asks you for suggestion. What would you suggest the team to do in order to be more effective?

1) the team is experiencing intra group dysfunctional conflict.

Intra group conflicts occur, between two or more members of the same team or group. This would have negative influence over the team work and may break the cohesiveness of the team.

2) from the conflict resolution tools, the most suitable for the given scenario is 'collaboration' approach. Because, it considers the interests of both the parties and helps in identifying a solution that satisfy both of the coworkers without any further issues.

* Use collaborative approach to resolve the issue and try to identify a balanced way in order to maintain the quality and reduce costs of the products.

* Manager or leader needs to take control of the situation and have a discussion with the coworkers for implementing collaboration tool.
