*Describe the social and the culture roles that malls play in your community?
*Beside purchasing goods, why else do you think people visit malls?
*do you think malls become communities primary culture?
1.
Malls play different cultural and social roles in the community. The first role is the remind people of the value of the cultures and social practices that are of prime significance to the community people. Hence, malls deliver social and cultural learning to the people who are still learning. The second role of the mall is to provide a platform where people from different culture and social practices meet each other and assimilate their values. It develops respect, exchange of values and understanding for each other. The third role, is to enlighten the traditions of the community where they are based, and become a symbolic landscape, making impact upon the vast majority of people.
So, malls not only propagate social and cultural values, but also they bring new things and help one culture assimilate with another culture.
2.
People visit malls to plan for the future, other tan purchasing goods. Further, marketers as people also visit mall to observe and experience the buying behavior of people as a part of market research. Besides, mall is a happening place, and it is also a good place for promotions and events, conducted by people of different classes. So, malls can be used by people for different purposes, other than the purchasing goods.
3.
I do not think, because malls have
become cosmopolitan in nature where, each culture has its own
place. So, one particular mall cannot be attributed to the one
particular culture. Here, one mall can be visited by people from
different parts of the city, rather followed by one specific
culture. So, malls now do not represent allegiance with one
particular culture.
