In: Operations Management
I have to do a discussion about this question and I'm having trouble finding legitimate sources:
"How can we ensure that farmers and ranchers, not government agencies, are driving the management of natural resources?"
Anything would be appreciated!
There is a long discussion about the management of natural resources. Some argue that it is the field off the government to decide the management while some have the opinion that the farmers and ranchers should be allowed to have the proper management of the natural resources as these are the individual who passes their lives in the lap of natural resources and thus they know how to manage these natural resources from the betterment of the society.
In order to ensure that the farmers and ranchers have the management of the natural resources, it is important to form a representative body that has the participation of some of the government agencies so that no law of the land is violated and all the environment-related laws and international treaties are ensured while deciding anything about the management of the natural resources
The representative of farmers and ranchers must be selected with the help of a voting system and the government can nominate the environmentalist to represent itself. The proper management of the natural resources can be handled by this committee and the proposals or suggestions can be invited form the local citizens and other farmers and ranchers along with the various government authorities.
After discussing this suggestion and taking the inputs from the environmentalist, the decision related to the management of the natural resources can be made.
