Name of toy-Bobo doll.
Describe the toy--Toy is made of plastic with a flexible base which rotates when it is hit in the face to observe the behaviour of the child as silent or as aggressive.
Age of child-4 year old.
This experiment explains the observational behaviour in children in different situations to study their aggressive response. Their learned behaviour is observed by observing the surrounding environment. It consists of three settings---one in which there is reward for hitting the toy, one in which the child is punished and one in which the the child is neither punished or rewarded. A film was shown in which an adult was shown hitting the toy agressively.
Play of child-Child has to punch the toy after showing different types of behaviour like aggressive, violent, frustrating or silent.
Domains stimulated--They were stimulated by showing films of people hitting the toy and showing different kinds of emotions.
Boys were more aggressive as compared to girls. It was based on reward as some students did not hit the doll untill they were given incentives and rewards for hitting the toy.
Social learning theory implies the modeling of toys with center of gravity for balancing it. The toy is made of plastic and filled with an air-cavity. When it is hit it bounces back creating aggression and frustration in the toy.Students are susceptible to television violence after seeing various situations of crime on television. It suggests the growth and behaviour of child in various stages of development.
