You are the owner of a discount furniture company that has expanded from a rural store in one state to 20 stores across the United States. Discuss at least one reason why your company should think about implementing an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. Discuss at least one challenge to implementing an ERP.
It is very evident that the discount furniture firm is in the path of progress and expansion and has in quick time expanded to 20 new stores which would further grow in future and hence it becomes very necessary for them to keep things organised so that it becomes easy to manage and track the progress.
1 major reason that the company should pay heed to and think about implementing an ERP is:
- The planning and reporting would improve. An ERP would keep a track of all sales and progress store and location wise so that the management has a clear view and idea about how store is performing and where is the need for improvement.
1 challenge in the implementation of ERP is training of employees since they are located at 20 different location and to adopt a new software and train the employees as to how to use them is a big challenge and would take some time for the organisation to ensure training process is done and the system is getting used effectively.
