Unions and collective bargaining units emerged as a bridge between the employees and management. They have been instrumental in shaping the industries, workplace safety, better pay, normal working hours etc. by bargaining with the owners or management. One of the most important benefits of the unions is that they prevent the management or the leaders from becoming dictators by reminding them that they cannot do anything without the labours who formed those unions. Secondly, they provide ample opportunity for the leaders and management realize the plights of the workers in their organizations. Although most of the time things go smoothly with negotiations, unions also act tough at times by boycotting their duties thus incurring loss to the management. Finally, collective bargaining makes the leaders and the management realize that everything involved in the production or business is equally important and they should be given their respect and right wage for the labour.
