Explain in your own words, how does the teleological view of history promoted by Christian historians differ from other historical approaches, both teleological and non-teleological? (300-400 words NO PLAGIARIZING)
Teleology is also known as finality. It provides us reason for anything which is in the functioning of its purpose or end.
It is made up of words telos (goal) and logos(reason). It is part of classical philosophy but it is controversial in modern time. Christianity is a monotheistic religion of teleological type. It is not like Judaism due to its teleological nature.
In Christianity purpose of human life is to achieve the heaven by doing good deeds and avoidance of sins.
Hence, Christian teleological philosophers use the different approach in comparison of non-teleological philosophers.
According to the teleological and Dualism concept, our every individual contains a divine soul that is enclosed in the physical body and the main purpose of life is to achieve heaven by doing good deeds.
Most of the conventional religions like Christianity, Islam, Hinduism etc. believe in dualism concept.
In dualism concept, every individual person is made up of a soul, mind, and physical body.
On the other hand, In non-teleological and materialism concept, every individual person is only a functional system of the body. There is no soul, and afterlife according to this concept.
There are many religions like Jainism, Scientologist, naturalism, atheism etc. that believe in materialism.
Materialism seems to be rationally correct on the surface but there are many flaws in this concept as if we are the only body then what makes the physical body alive.
