Google went under an acquisition of an already existing player in the market. Google acquired Motorolla to facilitate their entry to the smartphone industry. Motorolla was alreay present in the industry and had a command over industry with some of their flagshipphones. Google wanted to ensjoy this brand value to launch their smartphone products under the product name of Google-Moto. Hence, this is how Google ventured into the smartphone industry by acquiring an already existing player in the market.

Google went on to produce more product variants and the moto series became users favourite because of various feature packed smartphone in a affordable price. Hence, the entry into the new industry by google was very well planned and executed.
