Oparin and Haldane proposed that first living form would have come from pre-existing non-living molecules.
Millions of years ago, the conditions of the earth were high temperature, volcanic eruptions and also the atmosphere of the earth contain a large amount of methane, ammonia, water, hydrogen etc. Due to lightning and heavy radiations on the earth surface, these molecules combine to form various nitrogen bases, amino acids, sugars etc. Protocells are formed from the aggregation of non-living components. Protocells are mainly a collection of lipids in an ordered manner. They are also called as coacervates because they are an aggregation of lipids, held together by electrostatic attraction. Slowly RNA began to incorporate into it the coacervates and act as first genetic material. From these primitive cell forms, prokaryotic cells arise. Eukaryotic cells arise from these prokaryotic cells forms.
