What is the difference between “System Of Systems” and “System Of Sub-systems”? Give one example of each.
By System of Systems we mean that we combine the power and functionalities of many powerful systems into one to make an even more powerful system capable of doing more complex tasks and perform heavy functionalities which cannot be achieved by a single system. It is a collection of task-oriented or dedicated systems that combine their resources and capabilities together to create a new, more complex powerful machine which offers more functionality and performance than simply the sum of the constituent systems. Currently as of now it is just an approach which needs to be implemented in real life. Example :- Space explorations, Energy Sectors and Power Systems
By System of Subsystems we mean than there are multiple systems which perform their individual tasks and their tasks combined together can be used as output from the main system.A subsystem is a single, predefined operating environment through which the system coordinates the work flow and resource use. The system can contain several subsystems, all operating independently of each other. Subsystems manage resources. All jobs, with the exception of system jobs, run within subsystems. Example :- Propulsions - airplanes is a subsystem in the system of an airplane.
