When you are marketing internationally, what are the things you need to keep in mind and you must manage well.
While moving internationally to set up a business, marketing remains a major concern after market analysis. Marketing internationally means selling of goods and services in another country than domestic country. Marketing includes distribution channel, planning of how to advertise and capture market, promotional stratigy, and pricing stratigy.
Hence the factors to keep in mind while marketing internationally are:
1. Understanding the target audience and stratigise promotional methods accordingly. When marketing online, it is important to understand the target audience, that is if the target market is childer or youth or adults and also gender by analysis of demographic dividend and then finalising the promotional method accordingly. Promotional methods includes advertisement, door to door promotions, sample survey etc, so that consumers are aware of the existance of the company.
2) Building rapport and trust among consumers is very important so that consumers are willing to buy the product. This can be done by providing the good and service along with it post buying facilities. It is often seen , once a consumer buys a product sellers do not help them to solve customer's after purchase grievences. This leads to lowering of trust among customers and loosing existing customer base. This must be thoroughly encountered.
3) Stratigizing ways to distribute products by proper analysis of the distribution channel. It relates to taking decisions on dristribution channel. If the country where the company is selling its product , has people using internet majorly, then internet can be used to sell products directly to customers. Also online purchase and querries resolving methods must be established.
4) Pricing of product as per the market is important. If the market for the product and the country is a low income group country. It is often seen that people prefer competitive price over quality. Hence pricinng must be according to purchasing power of the customers, thereby analysing per capita income and consumer habits.
5) Product offered must comply with the taste and preferances of the country. While marking the product it is important to ensure that traditional and cultural grounds of the customers are valued so as to create sentiment towards to minds of the people.
6) Political and legal requirements must be met specifically so that the company can survive in the market without government's intervention. For examples- some countries makes it mandatory for tobacco products to mention that it is deadly in the packaging. Thus making it a legal action to be undertaken, which all business must comply with.
7) Advertising and packaging of products must meet consumer attention at the first sight which can make customers impulsively decide to purchase the product. It is important to note that one a customer is a customer for forever if the customer remains satisfied. Thus marketing must focus on attracting consumers at first sight and thereby building trust for ever so that customers keep on coming.
