QUESTION 4
Particulate matter is one of the air pollutants. Discuss and
relate with how it affects the breathing system. Explain in detail
the function of human respiratory system. [20 marks
Air quality is of concern to everyone. One measure is the number
of micrograms of particulate present per cubic meter of air. In a
small city in South Dakota, data was obtained for five randomly
selected 24-hour periods during June. These readings
are:
(15 points)
45,

Calculate an interval for which you have a high degree of
confidence that at least 95% of all 24-hour periods will have
readings between the limits of the...
Electrostatic precipitator question,
I'm designing an electrostatic precipitator (ESP) to capture the
particulate matter(fly ash) from flue gas at 130C that exits from a
coal-fired power plant.
My question is: how can i
increase the efficiency of the electrostatic
precepitator without conditioning the flue
gas (ie. injecting so3 or ammonia or water)? what are the
alternative ways to increase the efficiency of the ESP? please show
references with solution.
Thanks
