After graduating with a degree in International Business in his home city (Calgary), George found a job in a Canadian subsidiary of a Swedish multinational that has many subsidiaries around the world.
In this case, George could be considered as
Home country national |
||
Host country national |
||
Third country national |
||
An expatriate |
Option(b) Host country national is the correct answer, as the foreign multinational companies tries to recruit a candidate from the host country as they are used to with the local people and culture. The language as a barrier and traditional issues could be avoided, the workplace environment is under control and work becomes easy.
The other are not the correct option because home country nationals are the citizen of the country having headquarter in their own country so in this case the company is Swedish so he can't be an home country national. He is not a third country national as he is in his own country, and third country national means an employee who does not belong to the host or a home country but from the third country. As well as expatriate is also not the correct option because he did not went to the another country for work. This doesn't satisfied with the case of being expatriate.
