High quality child care programmes have many charateristics in common , these charactersitic help the parents to have better choices to enroll their children in the highest quality care possible. Children who have spent time in high quality care environments have lasting benefits from the experience their teachers.. The who receive a high quality early childhood education have better command on, language and social skills as they enter school, & as they grow older require less special attention in education, social skills &moral values. , thus progress further in school, .
These charactersitics start from the pre- school & all the kids need to learn these traits in the very begining of life , which continues to develop in their life inthe adult stages. They may be A) Curiosity B) Social skills C) Resilince D) Integrity E) Resourcefulness F) Creativity G) Empathy H) Assertiveness I) Humility J) Confidence K) These points can be further elobrated .
There are many benefits of early childhood education : my first priorty will be to teach the moral values , this is started from the parents , for example to ask the child to wish the people , to explain as GOOD MORNING , PLEASE, THANKYOU ,SORRY & many other small words which will be cultivated in your habits,. To prepare them socially to make friends , a sharing culture . Small group activities include cooperative learning projects as well as autonomous exploration. The children learn from one another & learn by doing. The teacher is a role model for pro-social behavior (actions speak louder than words) by being kind, patient, sympathetic, and helpful.
Out side time is a priorty :The teacher articulates the value of outside time to parents: It promotes exercising, socializing, sharing, taking turns, cooperating, and problem solving. The out door activities like , playing running, throwing catching &swinging etc they encourage children to make up their own games and rules, set up obstacle courses, and use their imagination
Learning math is enjoyable , meaning ful & children explore and experiment with a wide-variety of math materials during small group activities and open-play periods. They learn by doing. The teacher guides them by asking questions. Blocks are always encouraged at open-play periods. They teach math concepts such as problem solving, adding, subtracting, grouping, and geometry.Math manipulatives ,such as pattern blocks , jumble fixtures ,children enjoy in many ways Here Iwould take up for class I the teacher asked the children to take out their lunch boxes & measure it in cms & inches , the children learnt the concept by this playful method.,
Phonological Awareness is taught in Explict way :The teacher is knowledgeable about phonological awareness as a prerequisite for reading. they inculcate phonological awareness into the children in a play way which involves hearing & manipulating the sounds insides the words. they read nursery rhymes , poems . play music that contain rhymes & words , even tables of maths & the dodging maths tables are made to learn by recitation & musical compositions which the children learn by heart & never forget in their life.
For a 4 yrs old attention span is about 15 minutes & this circle time should be short & sweet .
Research shows young children learn more during small group activities and open-play periods.. The teacher involves the children.stage, expecting the children to sit quietly and listen while she performs..
