What characteristics define a "high-risk" population? Provide examples of at least three "high-risk" populations and describe how they meet the characteristics.

High-risk population means a group of people or a community which have higher chances of developing a disease. A high-risk population is quite common in the world and we come across it very often. It can be seen is pregnant women, small children, in HIV and AIDS patients.
For an example, infants when are born have more chances of contracting malaria.
People who smoke, consume tobacco and drink alcohol daily have a higher risk of contracting cancer.
If a city is flooded and people are stranded, then there is a possibility that people in the city may suffer from water disease, as they flood water is not clean and it can cause disease.
People who are migrants and refugees have more chances of contracting malaria because they are not immune and have less access to medicines and treatment.
People who have HIV/AIDS they are chances that they can contract malaria very easily as their immune system gets destroyed by HIV and AIDS cells.
