Explain why the induction cooker stays cold? And why save energy with an induction cooker? What type of pots should you use, given the materials they are made of?

Solutions

Expert Solution

working pricipole of induction cooker is inside of induction cooker have a circuit and coil. circuit will convert 50Hz supply around 1000 HZ voltage .this high frequency current will passes through the coil it will produce high frequency changing flux just above the coil (above the cooker). when you place the ferro magnetic substances like steel plate the flux will collide with steel at very high speed so according to faradays law the current will induce on base of steel plate .this current also known as eddy current. this curret only circulate base of the plate so base will heated up due to this current by the joules law. so cooking stuff will heated up from the heat of the base of the plate but side area of steel will not produce any heat so there will cool

saving enrgy by limiting the wastage by only heating basement of the plate

all magnetically responsing (ferromagnetic )metals will suitable for pet

iron ,steel, cobalt ,nickel and their alloy
