What is the master and servant relationship in collective agreements

Solutions

Expert Solution

The collective agreements is a written contract negotiated between employees and employer or between an employer or the trade union who represent employees. The agreement is done with all the terms and regulations. If we see the master and servant relationship is old and has emerged centuries back. But it became legal with some laws enacted in it to secure the right of master and rights of servants. Collective bargaining offers to negotiate, a fair master-servant relationship deal and avoids costly labor disputes. The negotiations done through collective agreements are mostly based on fair wages and working conditions. The settlement between both parties is done through negotiation, mediation, conciliation, and arbitration.

The master and servant relationship needs settlement when a servant does a work when his master directs and controls him with some authority and knowledge, whereas the servant obeys his master with no authority rather than working according to him. This is a legal relation a servant works under his master as employment and is paid by him with respect to his working hours. They follow this relationship for the purpose of finding an employer's liability for acts of an employee. In collective agreements, they try to balance their relationship by sorting better conditions, higher pay and better working conditions.
