Answer- A battlemanship refers to a large armored warship that emerged during the late 19th and 20th centuries as the most powerful warship. In 1904, the Japanese and Americans thought regarding big gun ships which would be able to carry a larger main armanent. In 1905, Satsuma was designed to carry twelve inches guns but it could carry only four twelve inch and twelve 10 inches guns because there was a shortage of 12 inches barrels. After this, the idea of HMS Dreadnaught came into existense. This idea was presented by John Jackie Fisher in October 1905.
He focused on a new kind of ship- the battle cruiser that would have the speed and armament to destroy an opponent. The dreadnaught became the most predominant battleship in the early 20th century. When HMS Dreadnaught was launched in 1906, it became a huge success and similar battleship were also referred as "Dreadnaughts" and earlier battleships were known as "Pre Dreadnaughts". This battleship had the more heavy calibre guns in comparison to previous ships. The launch of Dreadnaught reset the scales of naval power overnight.
