In United States, public schools provide free basic education for the students and their parents from kindergarten to twelfth grade. Most of the funding is done by ths local properety taxes. Federal Govt's contribution towards funding US public schools is about 8%. State and local govts are also mandated to fund the remaining amount towards school. The state allocates a certain percentage of its revenue towards funding schools. The schools of each state have different levels of support. There are inequalities in education funding due to different levels of income throughout the state. For exa, cities with higher income groups have more education funding, while cities with lower income groups have less education funding. Also children in higher-income towns have easy access to counsellors, experienced teachers, personal laptops and revised textbooks, while those in low-income towns have no access to these facilities. Even they don't have access to experienced and professional teachers. The occurrence of large discrepancies is due to the funding type of school districts in the US. Cities with high income groups fund the public schools by local property taxes, whereas the high-poverty areas collect low taxes due to lower home values and because of this there is low funding to schools. The state should take necessary steps to eradicate these discrepancies by joining hands with parents, students, teachers, unions and residents of the state as these type of inequalities in funding puts a negative effect in the minds of disadvantaged children.
