Solutions

Expert Solution

Please note the following three facts ==>

1. All the possible transformer combinations can be calculated with the help of above 8 cases.

2. Vp is phase to neutral voltage in all the cases. In case of star winding, we ground the neutral. So, in case of star winding, phase to ground voltage = Vp.

3. In case of delta winding, the neutral is not accessible. So, we can't ground the neutral. If you measure phase to ground voltage, then that particular phase will also become grounded. So, the ideal phase to ground voltage measurement value should be zero. But, if you can access the neutral of a delta winding and ground it, then phase to ground voltage = Vp.

NOTE - Hope the answer helps. Please let me know in the comments for more help.
