Suppose you turn on a system and everything is dead- no lights, nothing on the monitor screen, and no spinning fan or hard drive. You verify the power to the system works, all power connections and power cords are securely connected, and all pertinent switches are turned on. you are now sure the power supply has gone bad. Explain in 2 to 3 paragraph how you will go about to buy and install a new power supply and making sure the problem is resolved.
The procedure to replace a power supply is provided below, please comment if any doubts:
Here the problem is detected; the power system failure is the problem.
To replace the power system make sure the problem is solved, the following procedure should be followed. First it is needed to find the power rating of the existing power supply. Mainly the wattage of the power system should be noted. The power ratting mismatch will results in either system performance down in the case of low power ratting and the components failure in case of higher power ratting.
Purchase the power supply from the computer accessory shop based on the power ratting and check the warranty and other details of the power supply. Unboxed the power supply and replace it with the old one in the ATX case. There are connectors to connect the mother board, the processor and the peripheral devices like hard disk, DVD drive, etc. First connect the mother board using ATX 20 pin cable and then use the connectors to connect the CPU power and other peripheral powers.
Plug in the power and then switch on the power button, now the CPU fan and other devices should work fine. Now the system problems should be resolved.
