Which elements of a high-performance work system (figure 9.1) does Tasty Catering seem to have?

The elements of a high performance system that Tasty Catering seem to have are task design, reward systems, and people. Tasty Catering created, “teams of employees to identify core values. The teams settled on a set of seven, emphasizing ethics, high quality, and personal responsibility.”Task design includes how the details of a company’s activities will be grouped into jobs or team responsibilities. In the High-performance system Tasty catering is the task design element where they created teams of employees based on core values of the company, employees were then committed to making these teams work since they agreed on the values themselves. Tasty Catering also has the element of people of a high performance work system because employees were empowered to improve their service quality, and when their best employees were unhappy Tasty Catering created these teams of employees to keep them happy and improve the company. Tasty Catering has a rewards system in place where employees can receive bonuses from profit earned above a target level.

Drawing from the principles in this chapter, briefly recommend one other way that tasty Catering could maintain a high-performance work system?

One other way Tasty Catering could maintain a high-performance work system is by, “Many manufacturers use the latest in processes, including flexible manufacturing technology, total quality management, and just-in-time inventory control, but of course these processes does not work on their own; they must be run by qualified people If Tasty Catering uses the newest technology and automates the process of the work, they will also need good people that are qualified for the job and can do the job effectively. If all elements of a high-performance work system are satisfied then the company could maintain a high-performance work system.
