Desktop:

  • The desktop is a computer which is much bigger than the laptop in size and consists of all the machines and pieces of equipment that are required to run outside in the box. They are also considered to be a fully working set which most likely consists of :
    • A monitor
    • A keyboard
    • A mouse
    • A CPU
  • The device is generally located in a permanent location and is more of a workstation situated in the houses. It is one of the best choices when it comes to multi-tasking as it has the capacity of running multiple processes at a time while it can also reach to the CPU usage to 100% and significantly reduce the performance.
  • It is best of use when one wants to leave the computer running for days without even shutting it down and also never have to worry about the battery going down as it doesn't work on battery. The repairing of the system is also easy and can be done without any complexions.
  • The major advantage of this system is that we can easily upgrade the whole system in less amount of time and also at a very moderate cost without any extra expenditure for any special feature.
  • The biggest disadvantage is that it is not portable and also it can acquire a lot of space which can be difficult at times to keep care of.

Laptop:

  • The laptops are the computer devices that are small in size and very lightweight but can process all the things that a normal computer can do that too without any problem and similarly also have some added features such as inbuilt camera, microphone, CD player, etc.
  • The laptops don't require much of a space and the mouse and keyboard like peripheral devices are also present in the system itself diluting the need of space to keep the device also it is very small in size as compared to the desktop PCs.
  • The biggest advantage of these systems is portability so that we can easily move around while we are doing tasks in our system connected to the network with WiFi connectivity.
  • The disadvantage of these systems is that they are very dependent on the battery supply and require many upgrades with respect to the memory, CPU space and disks as compared to the desktops. They are generally not completely suitable for multitasking in the systems.

Tablet:

  • A tablet is a mixture of computing and mobile devices which gives us the feel of both the laptops as well as the smartphones. They come in handy are portable and also easy to reach out to.
  • The tablets, on the other hand, are very suitable for processing graphical tasks and also multitasking is another thing that can be easily done with these systems. They are small, portable and perfect in case if anyone wants to browse the internet along with setting up some alarms or taking down some notes.
  • All of these tasks can be done easily with the help of the tablets. The advantage of tablets is that they are portable, light-weight and also functional from both the point of view i.e. smartphones and desktops.
  • The disadvantage of the tablets is that they are very prone to damage and are weaker as compared to laptops and desktops. They cannot handle the massive amount of data and the speed of processing data is also not so fast as it is in laptops or desktop computers.

Hence, these are the comparison for the laptop, desktops, and tablets.
