Research about Predicting Dangerousness
Predicting Dangerousness, as the term is suggesting itself that it relates with prediction of future threats. This is being done in order to avoid any long term future anarchy. It is an important and integral part of criminal justice system. Various types of practical difficulties are also being analysed so that real potential of a probable danger can be analysed.
Suppose, a judge is providing bail to a criminal then various types of questions like safety of common people; remain in mind of authority. They try to maintain a balance so that there should be no compromise with the security and safety of genuine people living in society.
Various paradigms of a decision is being analysed so that any type of anarchy can be avoided. Various ethical issues are considered along with practical implications. Avoidance of future violence remains the main concern. Such attitude is also being adopted for "mentally ill patients" which may prove to be a threat to other common people. Random decisions are avoided in predicting danger.
Prediction of violent behaviour can be done based on technical knowledge. If a person is mentally ill then his/her record is being taken from hospital, so that element of accuracy can be incorporated in decision making. Background of person is also being checked so that better decision can be made. Prediction remains based on both qualitative and quantitative data.
