Discuss six sociological issues that exist during the Babylonian world power (as told in the Bible book of Daniel during the reign of King Nebuchadnezzar, King Belshazzar etc) and that still exist today.
1. Racism: Jews were accused of false making of prophesy and disobeying their God to worship false Gods. According to Jewish biblical sources, the Jews were driven out of Egypt in 10th century BC and were sent to Assyria which was led by Nebuchadnezzar II 2. Slavery : It is believed that slavery can be resolved by focusing only on the spiritual needs of the slaves.3. Poverty : According to the Bible, a Babylonian society could be saved by having the poor help themselves. This is sometimes considered a blessing because they would no longer have to depend on outside sources.4. Social oppression : The another significant issues in the Babylonian era was social oppression by elite and rich over poor and the less affluent. The overabundance of rich and powerful people causes hardship for poor. The poor need to control their environment and be able to rely on themselves to survive. 5. Wine: It seems that wine is the oldest incarnation of human civilization. Drinking habit of wine still existed in Babylonian period. People used to drink wine and dance. 6. Violence against women: generally women in Babylonian society did not have much opportunity to explore their identities as people. The idea of women being strong, independent, existed during Babylonian world, but still existed as separate individuals.
