Explain how a series circuit is different than a parallel circuit in regard to how the resistances (i.e. lights, appliances) are joined together. Then explain if it is more desired to have the wiring in a house based on a series circuit or a parallel circuit and why.
if you connect resistaces (electrical loads ) in series then total equivalent resistace wiil offered will be the sum of these resistaces according to law Rtotal=R1+R2+........which means total resistance is increasing(cumulative effect) so current deliver from the source will reduce .
but if you connect same resistance above mentioned in parallel then total equivalent resistace offered to supply voltage source will reduce(by the equation 1/R=1/R1+1/R2.+.......... ) and total current deliver from the source will high by the equation(oms law I=V/R) and also the voltage across each resistance are same

99.9 % home appliances should be connected as in parallel because of company manufacture would mentioned the operating voltage(normal house voltage 230volt) on that product .to get this voltage you should need to connect each appliance in parallel because of in parallel circuit voltage are same
if you connect these lights in series the voltage across each light will not get as company mentioned operating voltage so voltage are low and current are also low so power will reduce lamb will dim
