When a country drafts the legacy for hosting FIFA World Cup or Olympic Games, which stakeholders are in charge for drafting the event legacy for the country?
Whenever an international sports event such as FIFA world cup or Olympics happen in a country, there are several stakeholders involved who plan and execute the whole thing. Even legacy is part of this process. An event legacy states the long term impact of the event. For example, if a country hosts FIFA world cup, the goal could be to promote football in the country in the future. This could be for several decades.
Naturally, a lot of planning and activities go in to plan and draft event legacies. Originally the stakeholder who is responsible is the sports authority of the country. However, in addition to them other stakeholders are involved as well. For example, finance ministry could be involved because events such as these bring in a lot of investors. There could be other stakeholders as well such as media houses, government bodies, municipality bodies, etc. that are consulted while drafting the legacy. However, the primary stakeholder responsible is the sports authority/ministry of the country.
