1. Business level strategy- These are the strategies which are conceptualized at the level of business units. This strategy seeks to enhance the competitive position of the companies products or services. Hence the introduction of a new wifi tablet means opening up of new product segment which is a business-level strategy. This strategy seeks to maintain the position of the brand in terms of market share and profitability.
2.Corporate level strategy- Corporate level strategy is the strategy which is brought about by the senior management of the company to improve the organizational competitiveness. Ikea opening a chain of motels in Europe is a decision made at corporate level by senior management seeking to diversify their are of business and reduce the industry risks. Hence this is a corporate strategy.
3. Functional strategy- Functional strategies are strategy which affect the functional units of a business. These seek to make the functions more efficient and effective by making optimum utilization of resources. Hence manpower adjustments are an example of functional strategies as this seek to match the manpower with the work available to ensure high efficiency.
