By now you should have started thinking about who you would like to interview for the Company Report Project. Any questions about the report or how to find the information for your company? Any advice on what questions worked well for you or might help your classmates find information that they need to complete the project? What are your thoughts about the information found in the Company Report? Any surprises?
There are various sites available for finding company's information such as SEC, XE, etc.
Information that might be of help to analyse company report is:
1. Vision and mission statements of the company: Always check vision of the company and see if the missions are derived accordingly or not.
2. Corporate information: Check details of directors, bankers, auditors and registered and corporate office.
3. Products overview and financial highlights in last 5 to 10 years: Observe trend of revenue, earnings before interest, tax, and amortization, etc.
4. Director’s report: Check the past 3 to 5 years report of directors to ensure whether management achieved the set revenue targets.
5. Management discussion and analysis: Do SWOT analysis of the company.
6.Corporate governance report: Check constitution of directors, committees and attendance records during meetings.
7. Information on shares: Check share price, holding reports, etc.
8. Auditors report: Check auditors opinion on financial reports.
9. Financial statements: Check profit and loss accounts, balance sheet, cash flow statement and schedules of financials.
10. Notes to accounts: Read notes to account section of last 3 to 5 years.
Thoughts: The whole financial position can be found by looking at the company's financial reports.
