Implication for clinical practice is the following
- Clinical research is generally carried out to answer a research
question (hypothesis)
- The researcher collects data and analyses it keeping the
research question in mind.
- The researcher often take help of statistical methods to
increase the strength of the study.
- Once the research is over, conclusions are made.
- Clinical implications are the influences of these conclusions
on general clinical practice.
- Example: discovery of bisphosphonates ( drugs that reduce
osteoclastic activity in bone) was a welcomed news for elderly
patients.
- These drugs reduced bone resorption.
- Increase bone density.
- Reduced trivial bone fractures in elderly people.
- The clinical implication of bisphosphonates was that it reduced
trivial bone fractures in the elderly population. This improved
their health- related quality of life. This improve is the clinical
implication.
- Bisphosphonates are recommended for the treatment of
osteoporosis.

coma scale score is less than 8, it is associated with poor
outcome. Therefore if the patient's condition doesn't improve
within 72 hrs it is advised to limit overzealous therapeutic
intervention.
