How has the User Generated Content (UGC) altered the way that products are promoted in digital world? Provide an example, explain your realizations and rationale.

User-generated content is any form of content which is posted by
users on social media platforms and wikis. It could be content in
any form such as videos images text audios etc.
The types of user generated content blogs, sites, video games, coma
advertising, photo sharing websites, sharing websites such as
YouTube, social media websites such as Facebook ,Twitter, Instagram
etc

UGC have greatly impacted the promotion of product in this
digital world. Most of the people in today's age check the reviews
of a product before buying it. This is true you not only for
product but also for services.
Social media platforms have a tremendous impact in people's lives.
That traditional marketing methods such as television
advertisement, newspaper ad are being slowly irrelevant . This is
because most of the products which are promoted through these
platforms like genuine information about them. Most of the products
are often posted as solution to specific kind of problem. For
example there are television ads showing exercise equipment in
order to promote them , they guarantee instant results for people
with obesity but the truth is far away from the reality .This is
only a marketing gimmick. Other examples include fairness creams
which promote as a fairness results within 4 weeks, this also
claims result which lies far away from the reality.
Hence people have totally lost their trust on traditional marketing
and Advertising platforms. The reality of fact is today people are
trusting social media and other websites which provide a genuine
review of products. These reviews are posted by users of those
products. This review give the actual picture to the customer who
is willing to buy any kind of product or services. The matter of
fact is that today most of the companies make product of good
quality and sell them at a reasonable price because they have the
fear that their image could be Tarnished by users who can post
negative comments about them in social media platforms.
