1. Advice the mother to go for protein rich diet.

2. Educate the mother to take iron rich diet.

Rationale: To compensate the intranatal blood loss and prevent from postpartum anemia.

3. Advice the mother to add carbohydrates in their diet.

Rationale: Carbohydrates helps to secrete serotonin(neurotransmitters) which maintain mental health and prevent postpartum stress. Educate them to identify tryptophan dietary sources (tryptophan converted into serotonin)

4. Advice for Small and frequent diet.

Rationale: Helps to improve digestion.

5. Limit caffeinated drinks and alcohol during postpartum.

Rationale: It reaches the baby via breast milk and affects the general health of the baby.

Protein rich sources:
