They currently have a wireless network set up for the law firm but would like to allow clients and internal staff to browse the web while they are visiting the firm. They are worried, however, about the security considerations that go with this extension of their network.

Fitzgerald Law has requested that you send them your ideas and recommendations in memo form on how to create one overall network that incorporates the two wireless networks (the protected law firm network and the unprotected public network). They would like to see a diagram of the entire network, costs, and how long it would take to implement. Lastly, they would like to have you give them ideas of how you will make sure this network is secure, outlining what tools you may use to make it so. As you are planning to extend your wireless network for both staff and client I have some suggestions and easy methods by which you can share your network with most efficiency and with maximum security.

1. First thing you have to do is set up a Wireless Lan for doing this you have to install a wireless router(you have many in the market so you can choose as per your choice and comfort) and set it up. Most companies prefer a wireless router with wireless-N standard, also called 802.11n for better wireless coverage and bandwidth.
2. Setting up wireless Adapters is a must when you have desktop computers in your office. So make sure you install Wireless Adapters to all the computers preferably wireless-N standard adapters as we have planned to install Wireless-N standard routers.
3. Setting up WAP’s (Wireless access points) for maximum coverage of network to all the dead-points in the office. The client and the Staff will receive good wi-fi signals where ever there are in the premises.
4. When it comes to security any one with some skill can break through your personal or company secrets or any other type of security breach if we don’t take some security measures when we have a wireless lan which any one can access for internet.
5. We can either Create a Vlan, Create two different networks one for clients and guest and one for Staff or Create a second network(network partition).
6. In our case we are using 2 wireless routers so, we can easily create two networks or even create a second network.
