What is SCAMPER creativity technique?
How can we apply it to our work?
Give some origin and examples of SCAMPER
SCAMPER is an Idea Manipulation tool or technique which helps us in making and generating the most diverse ideas. Instead of taking the original idea to work, this technique would help us gather various different ideas from the most divergent fields, manipulate them as according to our needs and fuse them all together into our requirements and products.
We can effectively apply it in our work as ideas are being generated by taking the acronym SCAMPER into the play. Every action or every problem is being divided into different stages and tasks and generation of ideas took place as asking the relevant questions as accordance with the SCAMPER theory. SCAMPER is an acronym for the seven basic techniques of idea generation:
S-Substitute, C- Combine, A-Adapt
M- Modify/Magnify, P-Put it to some other use, E-Eliminate, R-or Rearrange
One basic example to study this could be used for Orange juice
per say.
We can substitute the idea of making the orange juice either in a
packet of plastic or container bottle etc.
We can combine various elements of orange like can we combine the idea of orange powder into making a drink etc.
How we can essentially adapt ourselves with the ongoing social media strategies to promote our orange juice brand.
How we can essentially modify our product orange juice by adding more features to look attractive to right customer market.
What other good use can our product be used, for example the promotional container can be used after finishing the juice for other purposes as well or not.
What waste can be eliminated to reduce the cost.
How can we rearrange our systems and processes to meet the ongoing demand or different business environment situations like this covid-19.
