A person without a lower limb or limbs may face huge cost to get prosthetic legs. A metal prosthesis can cost up to RM10,000 depending on the specifications and requirement of the patient. Cane furniture was made by bending the stem in such beautiful shapes that could also hold human weight. The usage of sustainable materials such as cane may help the sustainability of life of a person without a limb by ensuring it is affordable and available to people of all levels as well as helped the sustainability of the environment. However, one question - can you make a leg out of a cane? Discuss.

Prosthetic leg are serving as a life changer for the handicap persons for years. They are usually made of metals, metal alloys, composites, carbon fibres. which are light in weight and has high strength. Though many gets the chance, many people stiill cannot afford this especially in the developing nations in the world. Cane is a stem hollow inside obtained from tall grass plants such as bamboo etc. It acts as a aid for walking sometimes along with the prosthetic legs, But is it possible to make entire prosthetic leg from a cane?, Yes, scientist have been succeeded using cane in prosthesis. If cost of metal prosthetic legs costs 10,000 malaysian ringit (RM), these cane prosthetics shall be made 1/10th of its cost 1000 RM. The islands around the south indian seas are rich in these types of cane vegetations. we can make use of it for sure.
