discuss the importance of parental influences on the development of children based upon what you learned about childrens' emotional and social development.
How did the parental or caregiver influences impact the child?
Do you think birth order had an impact on the relationship between the child and his/her caregiver? Why or why not?
There are two types of influences a
child might have from its parents or care givers, nature which
refers to the genetic make-up the child received from its parents
and nurture the environment in which the child grows. In my
opinion, a child will have less genetic influence and more nurture
influence. The way the care giver responds to the needs of the
child, the type of relationship the care givers have or the type of
parenting the child is brought up such as both the biological
parents, single parent, grandparents etc. Will have listing
influence on the development of the child. The child will learn the
ways of the parents or care givers as they live and express
themselves in the society. If the parents or caregivers
discriminate other people, the child will learn that. If they are
considerate towards others, it would learn that way.
The birth order is one most important factors that might affect the
development of the child. If a child is the first one it would feel
negligence when one more child arrives in the family. If a child is
in the middle it would feel negligence as it would feel that the
first and the last children are given more importance.
