Quantitative research is systematic process of investigation in which different numerical and statistical data are used in order to obtain the required information from different sources.

If some organization need any mathematical model of any particular phenomena they look for quantitative research. It is a process by which the numerical data will be generated and that data will be used for the farther process.
For an example, Honda launches a car in INDIA for the mid-segment people, which might cost 6L to 10 L. Now Honda need some data before they take the decision to launch a new car into the market. They need to know from quantitative survey
Depending on these reports they will find a suitable model for the particular country and they will try to launch the vehicle that the chance of success for the vehicle will be increased.

Quantitative survey is the survey made and came to a statistical or mathematical statement which shows what the standard behavior of the product is. According to the survey report the decision is made and product launches in the market.
Experimental design in made based on some qualitative values. Those values are kept in mind in order to develop the product and launches in the market. Then the see the market acceptance and can say that the experiment they made was successful or not.
