What is your view on the “returns” of a college degree? Remember that the cost is not only the tuition, but also the opportunity lost due to the hours you have to devote to it. Given that, is it worth it? What about a graduate degree?
1. It actually depends. When you age 18(just before entering college) and become wise enough to understand that you really have an exceptional idea which you can implement it on your own comprehensively, then you can really go ahead to achieve your dream goal. But this is completely rare and many are unaware of their goals thus they have to get a college degree. This is the time during which you realise the purpose of your life and move ahead towards your goal with acquired skills gain over the degree time.
Now let's discuss returns of a college degree:
a) 99% of the top organizations want you to acquire a degree in order to be eligible for a particular designation you wish to apply for.
b) There are certain professional skills that are taught in college like email etiquettes etc which help you to have a professional approach.
c) The intensive examinations prepare you to be on your tows all the time. This helps to get hold of an opportunity even during difficult times.
d) Gain insights into the subjects you have opted for. The curriculum is designed such that you know the nitty-gritty of your interest area.
This it is you who have to make a choice only after proper analysis and introspection of you.
