why do we use % change in weight vs difference in weight
So, here’s the answer to your question.
It is basically very important to understand this topic.
Percentage difference is basically the substraction or the difference of one value to the other value of weight. When we take the two values into consideration , the percentage difference is calculated by substrating the older value from the new value . The result can be neative if there is decrease in new values. The absolute value of difference is the key here . This can be obtained by eliminating the minus value from the result and thus considering the positive value for the reference
Moving onto the Percentage change in weight which is the other method to define the change in values. This is basically the same as the percentage difference but with a slightest difference of defining the chnage or variation in terms of percent with respect to the old or previous value
Hence two of the methods are required to explain the change in the values. The application of any of these methods has to be done with care. When there are big sets of data and number of quantities , the percentage of change comes into application whereas in the case of data with smaller sets and values of samples come into picture, the use of percentage difference is more apt.
I hope this helps. Please do let me know if I can help you with anything.
