provide two real life examples of how health coaching works
Health Coaching:
A subset of a larger scope of practice involving personal or "life" coaching.
- A health coach can assist in making lifestyle changes after a person makes the decision themselves to make a lifestyle change. They have to want to change.
Social Learning theory:
- Bandura (1986) is behavior modeling and dynamic techniques to assist those being coached with taking on attributes, values, and behavioral traits of the coach or mentor. it is a method used by the military's Special Forces in training their recruits.
Personal life coaching:
- It is a new field with roots in performance psychology that encompasses executive and leadership training rather than simply working through personal problems.
- They assess a client's fitness and wellness, but also career, financial, and spiritual goals that may be outside the scope of practice for a Health Coach. They work interactively with clients to effect global changes in career and overall personal satisfaction.
So the above listed are two real life examples of how health coaching works.
